The <i>Kentucky Kernel<\/i> (UK&#8217;s campus newspaper) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kykernel.com\/dynakernel\/story.php?id=1871\" Target=\"Offsite\">reports<\/a> that the UK Student Government passed a resolution against the Patriot Act.  The resolution was controversial, passing by one vote after heated discussion and a deadlock on the first vote.  In an unfortunate sign that some people still don&#8217;t get it, the resolution&#8217;s opponents said &#8220;SG should not issue opinions about national policy but should focus on things that affect students specifically.&#8221;  It&#8217;s good to see that a (slim) majority realizes that shredding the Constitution <b>does<\/b> affect them.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maybe campus apathy isn&#8217;t as bad as I thought.
