A Knight-Ridder article describes a recent poll showing that a majority of the US population opposes a unilateral attack on Iraq. The article provides links to the complete survey, but since it’s a large PDF file I didn’t try to download it at home. But a summary in the article provided some interesting points.

Call to Conscience
I received this statement from US veterans concerning the impending invasion of Iraq. While the statement is specifically addressed to active duty troops and reservists who might be involved, I think this view from those who have been there, done that is something we all need to consider.
Some Minor Cosmetic Changes
You might notice that things look a little different here. I made the switch to the Geeklog software. I still have lots of minor tweaking to do, but I think everything is basically functional now.
That didn’t take long
Just four days after I got the comment feature working, I got my first unfriendly comment from an anti-hunting wacko in Britain. Poor Daniel’s life is apparently so pathetic that he has nothing better to do than wander the web and attack the hobbies of people on a different continent. Hey Danny-boy, get a life!!… Continue reading That didn’t take long
The Geeking continues
Got a test version of Geeklog running. I think maybe I like it better than pMachine. Either one is way more complex than I planned to get into when I started this thing. But I guess that’s the way all obsessions start. Maybe it’ll keep me off the streets and away from stalking Kylie.
And still more geekiness
It’s been a boring weekend, and I don’t have much to say. So I started looking for a fancier way to say nothing. I started looking around at other blog software. There’s a bunch of it out there. I found this article that does a pretty good job of categorizing and summarizing the major league… Continue reading And still more geekiness
So what do you think?
I\’ve been geeking again. I went ahead and made the security change necessary to allow the comment function to work. I\’m fairly certain that the only risk is a slight chance of a hacker being able to wipe out the blog, and I don\’t think I\’m really much of a target. Of course, even without… Continue reading So what do you think?
News Briefs
Some interesting items in the news, local and worldwide;
Fox(?) Hunting
Rain yesterday and today has washed away any hopes of hunting today. Maybe it’s time to hunt a different fox. I recently learned that UK hockey mascot (and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model) Kylie Bax has a horse farm on the north side of Lexington and is building a house there. Preliminary intelligence work indicates that… Continue reading Fox(?) Hunting
Perl Jamming Again
I got bored because it was raining, so I decided to play with this site a little more. I found some code that I could add to it to provide a comment system like real blogs have. Unfortunately, getting it working without opening up major security holes turned out to be a problem. Right now,… Continue reading Perl Jamming Again
