Campus Crime

The weekly police log always seems to have a few entries that make one say “Huh?”, and this week is no exception. Intermingled with all the usual theft, vandalism, scalping (I hope that referred to tickets) are some headscratchers

• 2:10 AM Sunday “alcohol intoxication, subject in and out of consciousness, throwing up, unable to hold up head”. A college campus, early Sunday AM, this is unusual?
• 9:35 PM Wednesday “Suspicious circumstances, subject on skateboard being pulled by car” It might have been a phsyics experiment.
• 1:41 PM Friday “suspicious car, yellow and white semi parked for over an hour”. I’m not sure what the problem is here. Are all parked trucks now suspicious, or just yellow and white ones?
• 7:51 PM Thursday “suspicious circumstances, juvenile selling newspapers”. So now a great American tradition, the paperboy, is under suspicion? As long as he’s not selling out of the back of a parked yellow and white semi, what’s the problem? Has Atty Gen Asscroft finally succeeded in repealing the First Amendment and outlawing the distribution of newspapers?
