I subscribe to a free service that sends me email notification of severe weather and other emergency warnings. I usually don’t get much mail from it, maybe a couple of messages a month, and a few more during thunderstorm seasons. The last couple of days, it’s been frantically warning me several times a day about the arctic air blast hitting us, as if I didn’t already know its fu-reeezing cold. This morning’s message included the statement:
“TEMPERATURES WILL BOTTOM OUT AT 5 TO 10 DEGREES ABOVE
ZERO, BUT WHEN COMBINED WITH NW WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH, WIND
CHILL VALUES WILL APPROACH 5 TO 10 DEGREES BELOW ZERO. TEMPERATURES
SHOULD WARM JUST ENOUGH BY LUNCHTIME BUT WIND CHILL VALUES WILL
STILL BE JUST BELOW ZERO.”
Umm .. just enough for WHAT???
