Another interesting twist in the Global War on Terrorism. Iraq’s biological weapons program, which is one of W’s excuses for bombing him (and lots of innocent civilians), got its start with considerable assistance from good old Uncle Sam. And it happened in the 80s, when Ronnie and Daddy were running the country, so we can’t even blame it on Bill Clinton.
So where do we fit in the new Bush doctrine of pre-emptive strikes against regimes that supply weapons of mass destruction to terrorists? Maybe Al-Qaida’s strike against the U.S. was just an early adoption of that doctrine.
